Back to School: Keeping Glasses Safe

Back to School: Keeping Glasses Safe

It’s back-to-school time in New Mexico! If your child wears glasses, you know how important it is to keep those frames and lenses in top shape for the new school year. We talked with Dr. Drew Casey about some ways to may sure those glasses make it through the year unblemished.

Q: What advice would you give to parents and kids to keep glasses from getting broken or scratched?

Dr. Casey: "It's always tough keeping the glasses in one piece. It's best to keep them in a case. I tell my kids "If your glasses aren't on your face, they should be in your case."

Where is a safe place to keep your glasses case?

Q: "You can put them in like a side pocket [of your backpack], an individual pocket, that doesn't have any books or any of the other individual things that can smash it. That's the best way to keep them in one piece."
